Role Overview
The Store Manager acts as a crucial bridge between organizational strategy and its execution at the store level. The role entails meeting sales targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, fostering employee development, managing attrition, and overseeing smooth daily store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to enhance customer experience by greeting customers, coaching staff on service excellence, handling queries and complaints, and nurturing strong customer relationships.
- Drive store sales by setting and delegating sales targets, fostering a high-performance sales culture, motivating the team, and prioritizing group performance goals.
- Manage people development by assisting recruitment, delivering on-the-job training via company modules, providing timely performance feedback, coordinating with the learning and development team, and addressing attrition causes.
- Oversee cash and inventory management by monitoring cash reconciliations, ensuring merchandise availability, conducting regular stocktakes, facilitating POS transactions, performing quality checks on new products, and working closely with other departments to optimize customer delivery.
- Supervise store personnel, including optometrists, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring eye examinations meet standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to retail SOPs, communicate business updates to the team, schedule shifts to match business demands, and maintain adequate staffing.
- Maintain store upkeep per company standards, including cleaning frames and equipment, safeguarding store assets, and preventing stock shortages or damage.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum qualifications: Undergraduates with at least 6 years total professional experience, including 2 years as a store manager; or graduates with at least 4 years total experience, including 2 years managing a store.
- Strong ability to connect strategy and execution, motivate and develop teams, build trust-based relationships, and address both explicit and implicit customer needs.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
Adaptable to changing environments and eager to learn.
Proactive ownership of tasks with a results and customer focus.
Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks effectively.
