Role Summary
The Technical Manager role is a full-time position located in the Greater Sydney Area, offering a flexible hybrid working model that combines on-site presence with work-from-home options. This position directs the technical operations related to grease and lubricant products, including overseeing technical support services, coordinating research and development tasks, and ensuring adherence to high-quality and performance benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and guide a multidisciplinary technical team, including mentoring, resource allocation, and aligning technical goals with business strategy.
- Manage day-to-day project activities, evaluate test results, review technical documentation, and resolve complex customer and production challenges.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, sales, and R&D departments to ensure integration and alignment of technical initiatives.
- Identify areas for process improvement and innovation within product development and operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and uphold safety standards across all technical operations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret technical data, troubleshoot issues, and support evidence-based decisions.
- Proven leadership experience in team management, performance evaluation, and fostering collaboration across functions.
- Direct experience providing technical support in industrial or manufacturing contexts, prioritizing customer problem-solving and product application expertise.
- Background in research and development with involvement in formulation, testing, and ongoing product enhancements.
- Competence in project management including planning, task prioritization, and delivering outcomes within deadlines and scope.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous.
- Industry experience in lubricants, chemicals, or manufacturing with familiarity of applicable standards and safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills to clearly present technical information to varied audiences, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a changing environment.
- Adaptability to hybrid work settings, working efficiently on-site and remotely as required.
