Description de l'emploi

About eNGINE and Opportunity

eNGINE is a company specializing in building technical teams by leveraging decades of experience working with technology professionals. We emphasize ongoing learning, market engagement, and helping talent find meaningful career experiences. Our consulting workforce benefits from challenging assignments, flexible schedules, and opportunities for paid training and certifications to advance their skills.

Currently, we are collaborating with a local financial services firm to expand their design team by adding a Product Design Engineer. This role is ideal for someone who excels in ambiguous situations, can swiftly navigate new domains, and tackle challenges independently without extended onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quickly immerse yourself in new business contexts and lead design efforts by creating concepts, information architectures, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed specifications, often guiding teams unfamiliar with design collaboration.
  • Focus on UX-driven problem solving by prioritizing user needs, workflows, and usability over merely visual appeal, including the ability to challenge requests that bypass foundational user experience considerations.
  • Leverage UX expertise through user research, testing, interviews, and other techniques to help define products and enhance usability and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate across functions by partnering with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders—many of whom may be new to working alongside UX designers—to build trust, influence design strategy, and align priorities.
  • Communicate clearly by articulating design reasoning and the narrative behind your decisions, while championing UX best practices within organizations where UX is still emerging as a discipline.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of professional design experience with strong emphasis on UX, focusing primarily on wireframing and user experience rather than branding or purely visual design.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments with evolving project scopes.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise-scale products, ideally within larger companies, whether in-house or in consulting roles; experience limited to small startups is insufficient.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain design rationale clearly to stakeholders unfamiliar with UX concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma or similar design tools.
  • A portfolio demonstrating problem-solving abilities and design thinking, highlighting the reasoning behind designs rather than just polished final screens.
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, UX, design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or comparable practical experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience developing or working within design systems.
  • Familiarity with incorporating AI tools in the design process.
  • Background across multiple industry sectors.

No C2C (Corp to Corp) contracts, sponsorship, or relocation support is offered for this position.
