About the Role
We are looking for a Value Engineering Value Analysis Support Lead to join our mechanical/production domain team in Chennai. This role requires a diploma or engineering degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Mechanical, Production, or equivalent fields, with 5-15 years of relevant experience. The candidate will lead VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) and cost reduction projects, ensuring high-quality milestone delivery and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute projects aimed at cost reduction and optimization under VAVE methodologies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and cross-functional units to ensure project alignment.
- Participate actively in meetings and reviews, both internal and external.
- Conduct peer reviews to validate project progress and outputs.
- Monitor and update project status, addressing critical issues promptly with stakeholders.
- Ensure successful project closure including customer feedback and acceptance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Solid understanding or experience with the VAVE methodology.
- Ability to analyze multi-level costed Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Conduct detailed physical or digital product teardowns down to child part levels.
- Comprehend the function, features, and cost implications of parts and sub-assemblies.
- Facilitate ideation and brainstorming sessions for generating cost-saving proposals.
- Screen and rank ideas, removing impractical duplicates based on defined criteria.
- Perform technical assessments involving design, materials, or process modifications.
- Estimate cost savings and calculate annualized impact for each idea.
- Prepare business cases including payback periods and return on investment (ROI).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting 3D models, 2D drawings, and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of design requirements, material selection, and manufacturing processes (sheet metal, casting, machining).
- Hands-on experience with CAD/design tools related to sheet metal, casting, and machining parts.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including data analysis, pivot tables, charts, and lookup functions.
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as FAST diagrams, functional block diagrams, Pareto charts, and the 5 Whys technique is advantageous.
- Possession of VAVE training and certification is a plus.
