Role Overview

The ADAS Vehicle Test Engineer will oversee the integration, validation, and verification of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at the vehicle level. Ensuring compliance with OEM specifications, European directives, and safety protocols is central. This role entails close coordination with OEM clients, development teams, and manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret requirements from OEMs and customers, along with regulatory limits such as Euro NCAP and UNECE standards.
  • Develop and update test strategies for ADAS, aligning with automotive frameworks like ASPICE, ISO 26262, and OEM procedures, ensuring traceability via tools like Polarion.
  • Conduct functional assessments of ADAS sensors and features during vehicle integration and validate these under real-world roadway conditions and controlled proving grounds.
  • Oversee test vehicle preparation, encompassing sensor and measurement device installation and sensor calibrations for camera, radar, and ultrasonic technologies.
  • Detect, document, and monitor issues using platforms like Jira and OEM-specific systems; support root cause analysis in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and conduct regression tests following resolutions.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with OEM clients, particularly German manufacturers, contributing in technical reviews, validation meetings, release discussions, and representing the company in Euro NCAP tests and audits.
  • Back Start of Production (SOP) processes and validation stages; assist with End-of-Line testing setups at European and Turkish production facilities.
  • Ensure synchronization between development, validation, and industrialization phases and actively participate in European conferences and workshops concerning ADAS and autonomous mobility.
  • Facilitate system releases according to OEM schedules and support the mechanical and electrical integration of systems within the vehicle framework.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an allied discipline.
  • At least three years’ hands-on experience in ADAS or automotive system validation within a supplier or OEM environment.
  • In-depth understanding of ADAS/Autonomous Driving systems and sensor technologies including radar, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors.
  • Proficiency in automotive development methodologies such as the V-Model and ASPICE, functional safety standards like ISO 26262, and validation processes.
  • Practical experience with engineering tools including Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, and test management systems like Polarion, Jira, and Confluence; adept at data analytics and logging tool usage.
  • Fluent English communication skills are essential, with German skills at B1/B2 level or above preferred; strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Structured, independent working style with a keen focus on quality; excellent communication for customer engagement.
  • Possession of a valid driving license is mandatory; additional advanced driving training is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, domestically and internationally, to support training and coordination activities.
