Role Overview
This position involves establishing and managing Quality Management Systems for mechanical components in thermal power projects, ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and project-specific quality standards. You will lead quality assurance and control for mechanical equipment, oversee inspections, analyze quality data, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and sustain Quality Management Systems tailored for mechanical scopes in thermal power projects, adhering to ISO 9001 and project criteria.
- Lead quality assurance and control efforts for mechanical equipment such as boilers, turbines, pumps, piping, valves, and auxiliary systems throughout procurement to commissioning stages.
- Review and approve inspection and test plans, quality plans, and material submittals ensuring full compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Supervise inspection, testing, and certification tasks conducted by internal and external agencies to maintain defined quality standards.
- Analyze quality metrics, non-conformance reports, and audit outcomes to identify causes and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality enhancement.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor quality through audits, capacity evaluations, and regular feedback to encourage continuous quality improvements.
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to address quality issues promptly, mitigating impacts on project schedule and cost.
- Organize quality training and workshops for project staff and contractors to elevate quality awareness and capabilities at all organizational levels.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards compliance related to quality activities, promoting a zero-harm culture.
- Prepare and deliver detailed quality reports and documentation to stakeholders and regulators.
- Participate actively in project review and quality steering committee meetings to represent mechanical quality interests and align with project goals.
- Promote the use of advanced quality tools and digital technologies to improve inspection precision, reporting efficiency, and traceability.
- Encourage a collaborative and inclusive workplace aligned with Adani’s culture, emphasizing respect, accountability, and innovation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- 7 to 14 years of progressive experience in quality management within thermal power or power generation industries, with a focus on mechanical systems and components.
