About the Role

As a Device Automation Engineer III, you will significantly contribute to our technology team's success by spearheading innovative work in simulation environments and software-defined test automation. Collaborating closely with Firmware, QA, and Hardware Engineering teams, your focus will be to rigorously test our MVAI-enabled drive cams ensuring high precision and consistent results.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement simulation setups that emulate real-life field conditions for drive cams, converting device activities into automated and reproducible lab tests.
- Develop automation software and scripts using Python and Bash for device monitoring, collecting logs, and managing hardware-in-the-loop operations.
- Integrate hardware laboratory configurations with continuous integration and deployment pipelines such as Jenkins and GitLab CI and contribute to the development of automation frameworks.
- Support IoT, camera, and telemetry hardware setups using stable MQTT protocols for communication between devices and backend systems.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking components including IP management, routing, and switching to maintain reliable multi-device connectivity.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- At least five years of experience in software testing with a focus on test automation.
- Advanced skills in board-level debugging and creating simulators for embedded device testing.
- Extensive knowledge of embedded Linux and MCU systems, including firmware flashing, bootloader and debug log analysis, and device recovery techniques.
- Proficiency in scripting languages, specifically Python and Bash, for creating automation tools and workflows.
- Experience integrating hardware testing labs with CI/CD systems and automated testing frameworks.
Preferred Skills
- Practical experience with simulation or emulation platforms for camera, ADAS, or telematics products.
- Understanding of MVAI pipelines, validation of computer vision models, or replaying sensor data.
- Expertise in MQTT communication and IoT architecture for camera and telematics devices.
- Strong foundational knowledge in networking principles such as TCP/IP, routing, switching, and DHCP.
