Role Overview

As a backend developer for BJAK, you will build the foundational systems powering the AI Neobank app. You will be responsible for designing and implementing reliable backend services and APIs that cater to millions of users across various markets and partners.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain robust backend services and APIs responsible for onboarding, account management, payments, card processing, transfers, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, KYC, and risk management processes.
Design systems capable of handling actual customer transactions, operational workflows, and future financial products securely and reliably.
Integrate seamlessly with internal platforms, financial partners, payment gateways, AI modules, and third-party services.
Ensure backend quality in key areas such as reliability, security, low latency, observability, data consistency, and effective incident resolution.
Collaborate closely with product owners, frontend, mobile, and AI teams to deploy features quickly and safely.
Enhance existing backend infrastructure by streamlining workflows, reducing manual operations, and automating repetitive tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience developing backend systems in production environments.
Solid skills in API design, database management, authentication & authorization, queueing systems, background jobs, event handling, and third-party integrations.
Hands-on experience delivering services that support real customers or internal business operations at scale.
Strong problem-solving aptitude with emphasis on debugging, security, data integrity, and system reliability.
Ability to balance trade-offs among speed, correctness, scalability, and maintainability effectively.
Experience in fintech domains such as payments, banking, digital wallets, KYC, fraud prevention or risk management is advantageous but not mandatory if fundamental skills are strong.
