Job Overview

The Bartender plays a crucial role in preparing and serving drinks while ensuring guests receive warm, efficient, and memorable service. The position demands extensive knowledge of beverages, strong attention to detail, responsible alcohol service, precise billing, inventory control, and the ability to thrive in a high-energy sports and entertainment environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and provide professional and friendly service.
• Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, soft drinks, juices, and hot drinks, as per approved recipes and presentation guidelines.
• Inform guests about beverage options, ingredients, current promotions, and offer recommendations suited to their preferences.
• Accurately take orders and input them into the point-of-sale (POS) system, ensuring prompt and correct beverage presentation.
• Engage guests to contribute to a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, professionally handling any guest requests, concerns, or complaints.
• Work collaboratively with Bay Hosts, servers, kitchen staff, and supervisors to maintain smooth service flow, including support for corporate events, tournaments, celebrations, and group bookings.
• Adhere strictly to laws and company policies regarding alcohol service, verifying identification and monitoring consumption to prevent serving intoxicated guests, reporting any behavioral concerns promptly.
• Prepare the bar before service by stocking beverages, garnishes, glassware, ice, and consumables; maintain cleanliness and organization of bar and storage areas, and ensure equipment is in good condition.
• Follow standardized recipes, portion control, and serving measurements while monitoring beverage quality and expiry dates.
• Complete opening and closing procedures according to operational checklists and ensure glassware is cleaned, polished, and correctly stored.
• Handle billing accurately, process payments through the POS, manage cash floats, apply discounts and promotions appropriately, and report any discrepancies.
• Assist with receiving deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting regular stock counts, and managing replenishment while minimizing wastage.
• Comply with health, safety, hygiene regulations, including personal grooming and uniform standards; sanitize equipment and work areas regularly; follow protocols for handling broken glass, spills, and hazardous items; report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
• Be prepared to stand and move for long periods, lift and carry supplies safely, and work rotational shifts including evenings, weekends, public holidays, and special events.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferably prior bartending experience within hotels, restaurants, entertainment venues, sports facilities, lounges, or busy bars.
• Comprehensive knowledge of cocktail and beverage preparation, spirits, wines, beers, and mocktails.
• Experience using POS systems and processing guest transactions.
• Understanding and practice of responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Proficiency in spoken English; additional language skills are a plus.
• Cocktail or beverage service certification is advantageous.
