Role Overview
This position is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Northland, New Zealand. The core responsibility is to identify and cultivate new business prospects while maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing and potential customers. This role entails promoting the company's warehouse and industrial equipment solutions to increase market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client site visits to understand operational requirements.
- Develop proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs.
- Follow up on sales leads and negotiate contracts effectively.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate product details and timely delivery coordination.
- Maintain and manage a strong sales pipeline by providing regular sales reporting and forecasting.
- Represent the company at industry-related events as needed.
- Participate in strategic sales initiatives aimed at regional growth.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated experience in business development or B2B sales, preferably in the industrial, warehouse, or equipment supply sectors.
- Proficient in customer relationship management including prospecting and long-term account handling.
- Ability to understand technical equipment features and articulate their operational advantages to customers.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities for engaging with decision-makers across all levels.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, sales tracking software, and basic office applications for organizing and reporting tasks.
- Self-driven with a results-focused mindset and excellent organizational/time management skills.
- Comfortable working on-site with regular visits to client locations, particularly within warehouse or industrial settings.
- Holds a valid New Zealand driver’s license and is authorized to work in New Zealand.
- Possession of a tertiary education in business or related disciplines is advantageous.
