Job Overview

We are seeking an organized and results-driven Buyer to join our expanding Procurement team. This position requires managing a substantial volume of procurement requests, collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers, and ensuring timely execution of purchase orders and contracts. The ideal candidate performs well in fast-paced settings, values operational excellence, and can effectively handle multiple demands with little supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Handle a large volume of procurement intake requests from various business stakeholders.
Evaluate purchase requisitions for completeness and adherence to policy guidelines.
Procure routine goods and services by soliciting supplier quotations and assessing price competitiveness.
Generate, issue, and oversee purchase orders, referred to as "ZIP Requests."
Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, Accounts Payable, and business teams to facilitate contract finalizations and purchasing activities.
Track procurement requests through to completion, providing proactive status updates.
Address and resolve invoice, purchase order, and payment discrepancies among Accounts Payable, internal stakeholders, and suppliers.
Monitor procurement service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure timely task completion.
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and system records.
Identify opportunities for process enhancements to streamline procurement and reduce manual tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

3 to 6 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain functions.
Proven background in supporting high-volume purchasing environments.
Excellent organizational and project management capabilities.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to prioritize competing requests efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Close attention to detail with a focus on thorough follow-through.
Competence with procurement platforms such as Coupa, ZIP, SAP Ariba, Oracle, Workday, or similar systems.
Experience using contract management databases like IronClad or equivalent.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools is preferred.

Preferred Experience

Exposure to procurement processes within high-growth technology companies.
Understanding of procurement policies and purchasing controls.
Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, and Accounts Payable teams.
Familiarity with supplier onboarding and vendor management procedures.

Success Metrics for the First 90 Days

Manage procurement requests independently while consistently meeting SLA deadlines.
Establish strong working relationships with key business stakeholders.
Accelerate procurement cycle times through proactive communication and rapid issue resolution.
Maintain high accuracy in purchase orders, supplier data, and procurement filings.
Implement at least one process improvement to enhance team efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation package is based on individual skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The pay scale is between $45 and $55 per hour. Full-time roles qualify for additional benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Commuter benefits, and a 401(k) plan with company matching. Note that this role is contracted and remote, with a duration of six months.
