Role overview

This position supports the engineering and facilities function at a hotel property in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The carpenter will handle routine carpentry, repairs, and small maintenance tasks across the site, while also helping with material movement and basic supply ordering.

Key duties

The role involves building, fitting, and fixing walls and partitions, including drywall, wallpaper, millwork, molding, and decorative finishes. It also includes installing and repairing surface finishes such as laminates, carrying out rough framing for doors, frames, windows, and cabinetry, and maintaining or constructing wooden items like partitions, doors, furniture, and similar property assets.

In addition, the job covers minor repair work such as tightening loose toilet seats, replacing light bulbs, and filling wall holes. The carpenter will also prepare requisitions, obtain manager approval, source items from approved vendors, and load, transport, and unload freight from elevators to the correct area using a hand truck.

Work standards and conduct

The employee must follow company policies as well as all safety and security procedures, report maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, and injuries, and complete required safety training and certifications. The role also requires a neat professional appearance, respect for confidentiality, protection of company property, clear professional communication, and positive working relationships with colleagues.

Guest service is also important: the carpenter should greet guests according to company standards, anticipate and respond to service needs, support guests with disabilities, and show courteous appreciation. The work requires physical capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position items up to 50 pounds without help, along with frequent reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing ladders, and fine manual handling.

Preferred profile
