About the Company and Role
Our client is a rapidly expanding EdTech publisher, well-supported by private equity investment, delivering impactful instructional content to the US K-12 sector. Following recent substantial funding and solid market acceptance, the company is focused on scaling operations, broadening product offerings, and deepening market penetration.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate the corporate vision and private equity investment strategy into concrete operational goals and KPIs, driving the overall Value Creation Plan.
- Manage and improve product delivery processes across digital and print curriculum offerings, coordinating between product development, content engineering, supply chain, and deployment functions.
- Lead modernization efforts for infrastructure, internal systems, and enterprise software integrations (ERP, CRM, LMS) to support accelerated multi-fold growth.
- Implement rigorous data-driven performance management frameworks using OKRs and dashboards to monitor efficiency, margins, and organizational capacity.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison with Private Equity sponsors, preparing detailed operational reports and scalability analyses for the Board of Directors.
- Work with the CFO to oversee operational P&L, ensuring optimal resource allocation aligned with growth objectives.
- Enhance the customer experience post-sale, focusing on strategic implementations, rostering, customer success, and technical support to drive retention and high Net Promoter Scores across school districts.
- Ensure cross-departmental coordination among Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Finance, particularly to prepare for high-demand K-12 seasonal cycles.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 to 15 years of growing executive leadership experience, specifically as COO, EVP of Operations or similar roles within K-12 EdTech or instructional publishing.
- Experience operating in a private equity-backed environment, familiar with PE reporting standards, leverage limitations, and exit strategies.
- Proven ability to scale technology or content platform businesses from early/mid-stage growth to substantial revenue milestones (e.g., $50M+ ARR).
- In-depth understanding of US K-12 market dynamics including state and district purchasing, implementation challenges, and student privacy regulations (FERPA/COPPA).
- Strong credibility with educational content teams and software engineers, able to balance pedagogical goals with technical scalability.
