Cybersecurity Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst based in Tallahassee, FL, to join our team on a 6-month contract with potential extensions or transition to permanent employment. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Information Security team to research emerging cyber threats, develop security strategies, assist with incident response, manage training programs, and build a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) database to strengthen our organizational security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support in incident response activities, focusing particularly on phishing attack mitigation.
• Lead efforts in cybersecurity awareness, training initiatives, and information assurance programs.
• Conduct extensive research on newly emerging cybersecurity threats and aid in forming effective security policies and programs.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of a GRC database to document security controls and compliance requirements accurately.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to responding to security incidents.
• Regularly report on the status of security programs and ensure detailed documentation of all related processes.
• Oversee and manage the SaaS Email Protection system, including issue resolution and customer communications.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong enthusiasm for cybersecurity and eagerness to learn and contribute.
• Intermediate knowledge of security concepts and core principles.
• Capability to detect phishing attempts using vendor tools or alternative methods.
• Basic understanding of incident response workflows and cybersecurity attack frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Foundational knowledge of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) principles and legislative cybersecurity influences.
• Excellent communication skills along with ability to work in team environments.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving ability coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency with standard office software and tools.
