About the Role

Edward Mann is recruiting a Data Analyst on behalf of a reputable homecare organisation based in Melbourne. This role offers a competitive salary package up to $100,000 plus superannuation and salary packaging options. Situated within the Finance team, the position involves collaborating across various departments to develop reliable models, dashboards, and predictive reports essential for guiding investment and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage detailed financial and statistical models to assist strategic, operational, and investment-related decision-making.
• Maintain data integrity by identifying and removing any corrupted financial data, ensuring accuracy and proper governance.
• Gather, cleanse, and analyze complex datasets to evaluate revenue streams, cost factors, pricing models, and associated risks.
• Monitor and interpret financial KPIs, identifying trends and variances to provide forward-looking economic insights.
• Assess new business ventures and investments by analyzing sensitivities and determining potential financial outcomes.
• Track competitor activities, including pricing, service offerings, and market positioning, to advise commercial strategies.
• Perform benchmarking analyses against industry and external provider standards to generate insightful comparative reports.
• Keep abreast of regulatory, funding, and market changes to support anticipatory decision-making.
• Leverage contemporary reporting platforms to query, consolidate, and validate complex corporate data.
• Design timely and user-friendly dashboards and reports utilizing tools such as Power BI or Tableau to facilitate executive and operational decisions.
• Develop compelling visual analytics and provide actionable recommendations to leadership teams.
• Support business units with tailored reporting needs, clarifying risks and prospects thoroughly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field preferred.
• Experience with data visualization platforms like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, coupled with advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Macros/VBA.
• Solid background in statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, quantitative analysis, and identifying trends or anomalies.
• Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to simplify complex findings into clear executive-level presentations.
