Design Director

About the Role and Company

Our Production Services division supplies expert professionals to prestigious global clients, delivering exceptional creative and operational support. We are currently seeking a full-time Design Director consultant to collaborate with one of our major clients, helping lead and shape innovative and visually striking multimedia content across digital platforms, video, events, executive communications, and brand campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary creative leadership and art direction for various formats including video, motion graphics, digital initiatives, executive communications, event media, and social content.
• Create forward-thinking creative concepts aligned with company goals to enhance the client's visual branding.
• Transform complex business and financial ideas into clear, impactful visual narratives.
• Maintain uniformity and high standards across all creative outputs.
• Oversee production of brand-related videos, social media visuals, executive presentations, campaigns, internal communications, and event collateral.
• Drive concept development processes, including storyboarding, visual system design, animation, and final production stages.
• Offer direct creative assistance for presentations, important visuals, and significant projects when necessary.
• Implement scalable design templates, motion graphic standards, and best practice guidelines.
• Collaborate extensively with Creative, Marketing, Production, Events, and Content teams to produce integrated creative solutions.
• Present and justify creative proposals to senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Lead creative review sessions, workshops, and project updates.
• Coordinate with project management and creative operations teams to ensure timely and scoped delivery.
• Mentor designers, editors, motion artists, freelancers, and external creative partners by providing constructive feedback and creative direction.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative studio culture focused on continuous enhancement.
• Develop workflows to boost efficiency, consistency, and design quality.
• Remain updated with the latest trends in visual storytelling, motion design, digital media, AI-based creative tools, and social platforms.
• Advocate adoption of new technologies and techniques to enhance the team's creative output.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Visual Communications, Film, Motion Design, Advertising, Marketing, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of eight years' experience in design, art direction, or multimedia creative roles.
• Robust portfolio showcasing expertise in video production, motion graphics, digital design, social media campaigns, and integrated creative work.
• Proficiency in conceptual development, storyboarding, production, post-production, and multi-platform content delivery.
• In-depth knowledge of typography, layout composition, color theory, visual hierarchy, branding strategies, and audience engagement techniques.
• Experience translating complex business or technical subject matter into compelling visual communications.
• Proven track record of leading creative teams and managing collaborations with external agencies or vendors.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder relationship management skills.
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Figma, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with video formats suitable for social media, paid media, events, and executive communications.
• Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple projects efficiently in a dynamic environment.

Engagement and Work Schedule

• Employment Type: Full-time, exempt classification.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.
• Work Location: On-site in Midtown, New York, NY.
• Compensation Range: $170,000 to $185,000 annually plus a comprehensive benefits package.
