About the role
This opportunity is with Mercor, a company that pairs top-tier creative and technical professionals with AI research labs. Mercor is based in San Francisco and is backed by investors including Benchmark, General Catalyst, Peter Thiel, Adam D'Angelo, Larry Summers, and Jack Dorsey.
The position is for an Engineering / Manufacturing / Technical Operations Evaluator who will review AI-generated work using domain-specific quality standards.
Role overview
You will assess outputs created by AI systems, identify issues in accuracy and presentation, and deliver structured feedback that helps improve model performance. The work is independent, remote, and designed to be completed asynchronously.
Responsibilities
- Review AI-produced materials against role-specific quality criteria.
- Spot factual, visual, and formatting problems in documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks.
- Write clear, organized feedback that can be used to improve future outputs.
- Use strong subject knowledge to judge quality, correctness, and consistency.
- Manage your work independently and complete tasks on an asynchronous schedule.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical operations.
- Strong command of English, either native-level or professional fluency.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with particular strength in Slides.
- Preferred: a Master's degree or higher from a well-regarded institution.
Application process

This is a remote contract role with compensation of $80 to $120 per hour. Applicants are expected to finish the AI interview and the remaining application steps to be considered. The team reviews applications on a daily basis.
