Role Overview

The Engineering Team Leader will oversee and support the engineering department to ensure the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and systems are maintained safely, efficiently, and with a focus on guest satisfaction. Maintenance operations must comply with operational guidelines, safety protocols, and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily engineering activities, allocate tasks, and monitor team performance.
• Perform and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance on all hotel equipment, guest rooms, and public areas.
• Respond swiftly to maintenance issues and breakdowns to minimize guest disturbance.
• Assist the Chief Engineer in planning maintenance schedules, manpower distribution, and prioritization of tasks.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and fire life safety regulations continuously.
• Monitor and manage energy consumption to support cost reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Keep detailed records, logs, and reports of maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
• Help train, mentor, and develop the engineering team’s skills and performance.
• Oversee external contractors to guarantee quality and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or technical certification in Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance.
• Demonstrated prior supervisory or team leadership experience is desirable.
• Comprehensive technical understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance operations.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices, preventive maintenance protocols, and regulatory compliance.
