Role Overview
The Finance & Accounting Associate will work closely with the Finance Manager, supporting daily finance operations at an entry-level position. This role is designed for individuals eager to strengthen their accounting and financial operations knowledge within a dynamic, expanding company environment. It involves multi-faceted finance tasks, collaborating with both internal departments and external stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting tasks including processing invoices, bills, journal entries, and payments using systems like Xero, Float, and Stripe.
- Prepare and finalize month-end accrual schedules and related journal entries.
- Generate and maintain financial reports for internal teams and external parties, with a focus on departmental budget vs. actual analyses.
- Support payroll processes encompassing payroll cycles, commission and benefits calculations, and reimbursement handling.
- Continuously improve finance and accounting workflows to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
- Collaborate with sales, customer success, and HR departments to facilitate business operations and finance initiatives.
- Participate in ad hoc analyses and special projects to support company growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, or connected functions.
- Solid understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting practices.
- Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, with comfort handling complex datasets.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- Proven analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Adaptability and energy to succeed in a fast-moving, scaling environment.
- A proactive attitude and readiness to take initiative in learning and addressing new challenges.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Interest or progress towards a CPA certification.
- Knowledge of key SaaS metrics such as Annual Recurring Revenue and Churn.
- Experience with modern financial tools including Stripe, Xero, and Float.
