Role Overview
The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) plays a vital role within the Go-To-Market Innovation team by assisting large enterprise clients to effectively implement innovative solutions. The position bridges the gap in enterprise AI projects by providing technical expertise and continual product feedback to accelerate adoption and ensure success for customer initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive technical engagements from conceptualization to deployment including solution architecture, proof-of-concept workshops, and live production rollouts.
- Develop and deploy production-level code utilizing languages such as Python, TypeScript, and Node, working in close partnership with customer engineering units to incorporate solutions seamlessly.
- Design robust APIs, enforce security measures, and participate in architectural reviews to uphold system integrity.
- Facilitate customer interactions through workshops and hackathons, fostering enthusiasm around new technological solutions.
- Create reusable resources like reference implementations, starter kits, and technical documentation to promote standardized adoption across accounts.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to align technical strategies with broader organizational objectives and communicate effectively with client teams.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of hands-on experience in software engineering with a history of delivering functional production code.
- Strong grounding in core software engineering principles including API development, system architecture design, and CI/CD workflows.
- Proven experience leading technical projects from ideation through deployment.
- Exceptional communication abilities enabling interaction with executive leadership and cross-functional groups.
- Knowledge of relevant cloud technologies, customer relationship management tools, and Twilio products is advantageous.
- Creativity and resilience in navigating ambiguous technical challenges.
Preferred Credentials
- Experience with large language models (LLMs) and conversational AI technologies.
- Understanding of infrastructure-as-code frameworks and cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- A master’s degree in computer science or related disciplines is favorable.
