Job description
Role Overview
Join DSV's global transport and logistics network as a Freight Forwarder specializing in ocean shipments based in Cork, Ireland. This full-time position operates Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, totaling 37.5 hours weekly. Your mission is to contribute to seamless global supply chains by managing sea freight orders and delivering exceptional customer service through end-to-end shipment visibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle sea freight shipments from order initiation to final delivery ensuring timely progress.
- Keep customers informed proactively with comprehensive updates on their shipments.
- Provide swift and professional responses to customer inquiries through verbal and written communication.
- Monitor shipment progress vigilantly, anticipating and addressing potential disruptions before they affect customers.
- Liaise and coordinate among shipping lines, overseas offices, customs authorities, and transport providers to facilitate smooth cargo transit.
- Resolve operational issues and manage exceptions promptly with a customer-centered focus.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records and shipment documentation per company protocols.
- Open and organize shipment files following established standards.
- Coordinate customs brokerage requirements to ensure complete and correct documentation.
- Compile and update In-Transit Reports and track shipment status rigorously.
- Support timely and accurate invoicing and cost control activities.
- Adhere to service levels, KPIs, standard operating procedures, and compliance regulations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize customer satisfaction and contribute to continuous process improvements and operational excellence within the logistics team.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in customer service, administrative roles, or logistics environments.
- Strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication abilities combined with relationship-building skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to outstanding customer service delivery.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
