  • Forecast and ensure availability of required facilities, precision equipment, and workforce to meet quality objectives.
  • Oversee implementation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and control document changes within the division effectively.
  • Collaborate with Special Operations (Spec Ops) for swift containment actions to avoid line stoppages and support Manufacturing Quality Assurance (MQA) with key initial analysis to meet Supplier Performance Ratings (SPR).
  • Lead the department strategically, focusing on Culture, Capability, and Capacity to empower team members in technical decision-making.
  • Develop and manage competency frameworks, maintain team morale, address concerns of Shift Incharges and Zone Leaders, and promote a performance-driven work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Between 10 to 14 years of experience is essential.

Essential Competencies

  • Strong expertise in surface treatment processes such as Cathodic Electro-Deposition (CED), powder coating, and spray painting along with monitoring critical paint process parameters.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive and electric vehicle assembly quality gates including end-of-line testing and in-station validations.
  • Proficient in managing operations using SQCDM metrics to drive performance and operational excellence.
  • High-level skills in Root Cause Analysis techniques, including 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone diagrams, to implement effective corrective actions.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits and upholding sustainability standards such as ISO and IATF.

Desired Competencies

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies including Swimlanes and managing quality-related tasks using JIRA or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes in a fast-evolving hardware manufacturing environment.
  • Capability to coach and mentor junior staff and supervisors, fostering career development through structured competency frameworks.
