Junior Data Analyst - Securities and EDM Projects

About the Position

We are recruiting for a Junior Data Analyst on a contract basis for a prestigious banking client based in Toronto, Ontario. This opportunity is onsite, requiring a commitment of five days a week, lasting approximately 2.5 months from July 27 to October 31, 2026. The successful candidate will provide essential support for key securities setup and delivery programs, including EDM Phase 2, Spire, and W360 upgrade projects.

Core Responsibilities

• Configure and confirm various securities such as funds, bonds, and money markets across multiple platforms.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in setup data by liaising with vendor sources.
• Conduct thorough end-of-day validations and ensure timely completion of same-day requests.
• Maintain active communication channels with business departments regarding security setup data.
• Track and follow up on setup issues promptly to ensure resolutions.
• Deliver exceptional client service, representing the company positively.
• Escalate critical issues immediately and engage in cross-training with team members.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant policies and regulations.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• University degree (Bachelor's level) mandatory.
• Minimum of three years' experience in the financial services sector.
• Comprehensive understanding of securities industry practices.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical capabilities alongside effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Credentials

• Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certification.
• Experience working with EDM, Spire, or comparable banking technology systems.
• Background knowledge in securities operations or settlement processes.

Compensation and Additional Information

This contract position offers remuneration between 18 and 23 Canadian dollars per hour. An immediate start is encouraged, with the opportunity to begin as early as July 27, 2026.
