About the Team
The Content & Credentials division at Coursera empowers learners and partners by enhancing the learning experience through innovative systems and collaborations. The Teaching & Learning team provides expertise and consultation to develop transformative learning content rooted in research and data insights, improving engagement, satisfaction, and educational outcomes.
Role Overview
This full-time role based in India centers on designing and developing Coursera-produced learning content and supporting partners in the APAC region. Responsibilities include learning design, prototyping, experimentation, and ensuring quality vendor-produced content through clear standards and constructive feedback. The role involves partnering with subject matter experts, APAC partners, and production vendors to create asynchronous, skill-focused online learning materials, along with collaborating internally to align design approaches and continuously enhance the learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead scalable learning design efforts emphasizing modular, skill-based course structures and comprehensive assessments.
- Convert expert knowledge into detailed design artifacts such as learning outcomes, program outlines, sequenced journeys, storyboards, and assessment guides for vendor production.
- Utilize replicable design frameworks, templates, and criteria to streamline consistent vendor production.
- Participate in restructuring course modules and assets into new programs that align with skill objectives.
- Maintain adherence to design standards, delivering precise, actionable feedback and quality assurance for vendors and partners.
- Contribute to pedagogical research and development, including creating AI-powered design tools to boost efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, Education, or related discipline.
- Minimum of three years’ practical experience in instructional or learning design, curriculum development, or learning product design.
- Proven ability to collaborate with subject matter experts and external vendors to transform designs into production-ready materials.
- Experience with modular, skill-aligned course and assessment design methodologies.
- Familiarity with using Generative AI tools in learning design, content creation, or workflow management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Education, Learning Sciences, or Instructional Design.
- Knowledge of Coursera’s platform, learning analytics, and data-driven educational optimization.
- Experience with design authoring tools like Figma, Articulate Storyline, or equivalents.
- Basic proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with visual analytics tools (Looker, Tableau), with additional skills in experimental design or SQL considered a plus.
- Proven communication skills with external stakeholders to gather requirements, manage expectations, and influence design decisions.
