Manager - OT Infrastructure, Hosting & Connectivity

Role Overview

This role leads the systems and controls operations within Maaden, ensuring uniform standards, safe usage, and high performance of industrial control systems across various locations. The manager is responsible for the oversight of operational technology (OT) systems and controls standards involving PLC, DCS, SCADA, MES integration, and controls governance. Acting as the authority on control systems, the position guarantees reliable, standardized, and well-managed OT environments throughout the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the enterprise-wide roadmap for OT systems and controls covering PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and system integrations.
• Guide the selection, configuration, and upgrade strategies for control platform technologies.
• Assist site teams in deploying and maintaining systems that comply with established control standards.
• Encourage safe-by-design control architectures and operational best practices.
• Support monitoring, diagnostics, and continuous improvements aimed at enhancing control system performance.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to resolve control system reliability concerns.
• Develop and implement “closed loop by default” systems to accelerate autonomous operations beyond traditional APC approaches.
• Define integration standards for OT control systems with infrastructure, data platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Collaborate closely with OT infrastructure, storage, networking, and connectivity teams to ensure effective deployment and operation of controls.

Qualification Requirements

• A minimum bachelor's degree in Electrical, Control, Automation, or Systems Engineering; postgraduate master’s degree preferred.
• At least 12 years of professional experience in industrial control systems or OT environments.
• Strong practical expertise with PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms.
• Experience in establishing and regulating control system standards across multiple facilities.
• Preferred background includes mining, processing, or industries with asset-intensive operations.
