Role overview
Match Group’s Strategy & Operations function works closely with senior leaders across the company and its brands to advance the most critical strategic priorities. The team combines analytical depth, forward-looking thinking, and practical operating guidance to help set long-term direction and keep execution aligned with company goals.
In this position, you’ll serve as an internal strategy advisor to executive leadership and the Match Group portfolio brands. You’ll either lead or contribute to high-impact projects, shaping strategic decisions and turning insights into concrete action plans. The role calls for comfort with data analysis, distilling findings into recommendations, and working across teams to make ideas happen. You will report to the Senior Director, Strategy & Operations and partner with colleagues in Strategy, Operations, and Consumer Research. Because this is a corporate role supporting multiple brands, you’ll interact with a broad range of senior stakeholders and adapt to different business priorities, working styles, and communication preferences.
Match Group is a global leader in dating services, with brands such as Tinder, Match, Hinge, PlentyOfFish, and The League, all focused on helping singles build meaningful connections. The company emphasizes a sense of belonging both in its products and within its teams. Employees work together in person three days per week.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze competitors, industry movement, new technologies, and market shifts to surface insights that support strategic choices, including buy, build, or partner decisions.
- Help shape strategy across the portfolio by evaluating opportunities and risks, then recommending how resources should be allocated across brands and regions.
- Build business cases by converting customer, market, and financial inputs into models, estimating growth potential, presenting implications, and outlining implementation paths.
- Lead or support special strategic initiatives for corporate and business-unit leadership, offering recommendations grounded in analysis, business context, and operational constraints.
- Create materials for executive-level forums such as strategic planning sessions, Board of Directors meetings, and quarterly earnings, while also helping manage the related projects.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy, preferably in consumer technology.
- A strong bias toward answering the core question quickly and focusing on the business implication or “so what.”
- Solid analytical ability, including market and competitive analysis, use of strategic frameworks, and building business cases with limited or imperfect data.
- Experience creating and executing growth strategies.
- Proven ability to align stakeholders across functional, business, and technical groups.
- Clear, confident communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise materials for senior executives and C-suite audiences.
- Highly organized and proactive approach, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Strong presentation skills in Google Slides or Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Excel analysis and modeling, including intermediate formulas such as INDEX+MATCH and XLOOKUP, plus pivot tables and charts.
- Experience writing well-structured executive memos.
