Night Porter

About the Role

A great chance to become part of a lively and engaging hotel team as a Night Porter. This position entails delivering outstanding guest experiences by providing a warm, hospitable, and professional service during late hours. This part-time permanent role offers at least 10 hours weekly at Sudima Christchurch City, with an hourly wage of $27.25.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere in the hotel where guests feel comfortable and valued.
• Assist guests with valet parking and handling their luggage.
• Support the Night Manager by managing guest requests and conducting overnight inspections.
• Address guest concerns promptly and ensure clear, ongoing communication to resolve issues smoothly.
• Carry out hotel security floor rounds.
• Provide guests with information about Christchurch and surrounding areas.
• Help guests with arrangements for tours, dining, and transportation.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in all public and external hotel areas.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs or replacing remote batteries.
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including emergency procedures.

Candidate Requirements

• Availability to work night shifts including weekends and evenings.
• Strong motivation and confidence with a focus on exceptional guest service.
• Professional appearance and a solid work ethic.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Adaptable, flexible attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team.
• Ability to manage priorities and perform well under pressure.
• Valid full New Zealand driver’s license.
• Legal right to work in New Zealand.
