About the Role
Tesla's Vehicle and Powertrain Engineering teams based in Berlin seek an Operations Coordinator to act as the central operational support for the engineering organization. This role involves close collaboration with engineering managers, HR, and factory stakeholders to enable engineers in delivering industry-leading vehicles. The teams in Europe are actively working on new vehicle programs and technology launches, closely coordinating with Gigafactory Berlin and test engineering units both locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily workplace operations for the Vehicle Engineering team, including overseeing seating arrangements, managing workwear budgets, organizing team events, liaising with facility management, and implementing employee feedback from surveys and recognition programs.
- Support recruitment efforts by working alongside recruiting teams and Design Engineering hiring managers, focusing on graduate and early talent recruitment as well as other roles.
- Serve as the operational link between Design Engineering and Gigafactory Berlin by handling non-technical workflows, service agreements, and general team administration; organize executive visits, manage weekly meeting agendas, and coordinate travel, paid time off, and site housekeeping.
- Administer the engineering fleet, overseeing vehicle allocation, scheduling, and coordination with stakeholders.
- Take on additional operational tasks assigned by Design Engineering management to meet evolving business requirements.
Candidate Profile
- One to three years of experience or more in operations, program coordination, project management, or related areas, preferably in an engineering, automotive, or technology setting.
- Strong organizational aptitude to manage multiple projects simultaneously with sharp attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interact confidently with engineers, managers, factory personnel, and senior leaders.
- Fluent English skills required; German language proficiency is a significant advantage due to the local factory environment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, juggling priorities and tracking progress meticulously.
- Self-motivated, proactive in identifying needs and taking action independently.
- Energetic with a sincere enthusiasm for Tesla’s mission.
- Possess and maintain a valid German driver’s license and a safe driving history.
- Eligible to work legally in Germany.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is beneficial, or relevant professional experience.
- Experience organizing recruitment programs or graduate trainee schemes is advantageous.
- Familiarity with productivity and collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Excel.
