Operations Manager

Role overview

This position is being hired for a client of Weekday. It is a full-time, on-site role based in Goa, and the salary is listed at INR 50–60 LPA. The company is looking for a senior operations leader with 17–22 years of experience to manage and improve large-scale manufacturing and production functions.

The right candidate will bring deep experience in production leadership, operational improvement, planning, and process efficiency. The role calls for someone who can strengthen output, uphold strict quality benchmarks, use resources effectively, and promote a culture of ongoing improvement.

What you will do

• Take charge of day-to-day production activities and keep operations running efficiently, productively, and with consistent quality.
• Create and roll out production plans that support business goals and customer requirements.
• Track production schedules, available capacity, and resource deployment to meet delivery commitments.
• Lead improvement programs using methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar frameworks.
• Refine production workflows to cut waste, improve throughput, and raise overall equipment effectiveness.
• Make sure quality systems and regulatory obligations are followed at all times.
• Review production data, identify bottlenecks, and put corrective measures in place.
• Work closely with supply chain, procurement, maintenance, and engineering teams to keep production uninterrupted.
• Design preventive maintenance approaches that reduce downtime and improve asset use.
• Oversee production budgets, operating costs, inventory, and planning for resources.
• Guide, coach, and develop production managers, supervisors, and operational staff to build a strong performance culture.
• Maintain workplace safety by enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards across the manufacturing site.
• Prepare operational updates and present performance findings and improvement plans to senior management.
• Support expansion efforts, automation programs, and digital transformation initiatives that improve operational outcomes.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA in Operations Management is preferred.
• 17–22 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, production, or operations leadership.
• Strong background in handling large production teams within medium to large manufacturing environments.
• Solid understanding of production planning, manufacturing systems, process improvement, and operational strategy.
• Proven track record of improving productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and overall operational performance.
