About the Role
This role is offered through a partner company based in Australia seeking a Performance Marketing Manager to lead paid acquisition strategies within a fast-growing ecommerce setting. The position entrusts ownership of paid media activities, including managing external agencies while establishing frameworks for future internal capabilities. This leadership role blends strategic oversight with hands-on campaign optimization, analytics, and cross-department collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own paid media strategies across platforms such as Google Ads and Meta Ads aligned with business goals and revenue targets.
- Oversee external paid media agencies by setting expectations, evaluating strategies critically, and ensuring accountability for performance outcomes.
- Create a transition plan to gradually shift certain paid media executions from agencies to internal management.
- Directly optimize campaigns by enhancing targeting, bidding strategies, creative testing, and overall channel efficiency.
- Manage diverse Google Ads campaigns including Search, Shopping, Performance Max, and YouTube, focusing on product-level optimization and conversion tracking.
- Lead Meta advertising efforts covering prospecting, retargeting, product launches, and creative experimentation.
- Investigate and assess emerging paid acquisition avenues such as affiliate marketing, influencer collaborations, Reddit, LinkedIn, among others.
- Implement comprehensive measurement frameworks and dashboards to monitor ROI, revenue contribution, efficiency, and customer acquisition metrics.
- Work in close partnership with merchandising, lifecycle marketing, creative, and sales teams to ensure alignment of paid campaigns with overall commercial objectives.
- Promote a culture of testing by defining hypotheses, analyzing outcomes, and scaling effective strategies.
Candidate Requirements
- Between 5 to 8+ years of paid or performance marketing experience with demonstrated responsibility for acquisition channels.
- Strong hands-on expertise managing Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns effectively.
- Proven background in managing external marketing agencies and driving performance accountability.
- Highly analytical with a focus on financial impacts, optimizing for revenue, profitability, and efficiency.
- Skilled in interpreting campaign data to uncover insights and guide strategic decisions.
- Experience designing paid media strategies, testing frameworks, and scalable campaign processes.
- Deep knowledge of attribution models, tracking mechanisms, reporting tools, and marketing analytics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across various departments.
- Experience transitioning paid media activities from agency to in-house operations is a significant advantage.
- Background in high-value ecommerce, B2B sectors, Shopify platforms, or industries like coffee, hospitality, or equipment-based businesses is beneficial.
