Lantern Systems Co. Ltd is seeking a Presales Security Engineer to bolster their sales and bidding operations within Physical Security and Telecommunications sectors. The position emphasizes delivering solutions that are both cost-effective and fully compliant with client requirements.
Role Overview
The Presales Engineer will be responsible for evaluating RFPs, crafting technical solution designs, and preparing comprehensive techno-commercial proposals to meet client needs. This role includes managing vendor relationships, coordinating internally with sales, procurement, and project teams, and actively engaging with customers to support sales and bid management functions. The goal is to provide optimized security and telecom solutions tailored to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze RFPs, RFQs, and tender documents to determine technical and commercial needs.
- Develop cost-efficient, rule-compliant solutions covering HCIS and non-HCIS aspects of Physical Security and Telecommunications, including but not limited to CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection Systems, Perimeter Security, PSIM, Command & Control, and Telecom.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate project feasibility.
- Prepare and present detailed techno-commercial proposals encompassing BOQs, compliance matrices, pricing strategies, and technical documentation.
- Create technical schematics and solution architectures utilizing design tools like AutoCAD and Visio.
- Ensure all proposals align with client expectations, budgets, and relevant regulations.
- Identify, negotiate with, and manage OEMs, distributors, channel partners, and subcontractors.
- Review vendor quotations thoroughly to optimize the Bill of Materials.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships to stay informed about the latest technologies and pricing.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, engineering, and project teams to ensure proposal accuracy and alignment.
- Confirm cost precision in coordination with design and estimation departments.
- Assist with contract reviews to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, technical discussions, and client consultations.
- Provide technical clarifications, justifications, and support product demonstrations or proof-of-concept initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or a related engineering field.
- 5 to 7 years of demonstrated experience in presales, bid management, or solution engineering focused on security and telecommunication systems.
- Prior involvement with projects for major clients such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, and Maa’den is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in CCTV, Access Control, Video Management Systems, Intrusion Detection, ANPR, UVIS, PSIM, Radio, WLAN, and associated security and telecom technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, and other schematic design software.
- Knowledge of security system standards and regulations including ONVIF, HCIS, SAES, MOI, SAMA, among others.
- Competency in preparing detailed Bills of Quantities, cost estimations, and compliance documentation.
