Position Overview
Our partner company is seeking a Procurement Manager based in the United States to lead procurement initiatives within the dynamic renewable energy and energy storage industries. This role presents a unique chance to influence procurement strategies critical to advancing sustainable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing efforts for battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar technologies, and related equipment including conducting market research, crafting RFPs, evaluating suppliers, and closing contracts.
- Formulate and execute procurement plans aimed at optimizing costs, meeting technical criteria, improving delivery, ensuring supplier dependability, and mitigating risks.
- Oversee complex equipment supply contracts managing commercial terms, logistics, quality standards, warranty arrangements, and payment conditions.
- Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers, serving as an expert on supply market dynamics.
- Conduct negotiations concerning technical and commercial contracts to facilitate effective deal closures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, construction, legal, development, and finance to ensure procurement aligns with project goals.
- Support major project transactions including acquisitions, financings, divestitures, and related agreements.
- Drive improvements in procurement processes enhancing efficiency, scalability, cost effectiveness, and resilience of the supply chain.
- Provide procurement insights that aid strategic business planning and long-term supply chain positioning.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive procurement experience with emphasis on sourcing, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in utility-scale renewable energy procurement, high-voltage or thermal infrastructure sourcing.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of equipment technical details, specifications, and supplier evaluation mechanisms.
- Experience supporting execution of EPC contracts, supply agreements, and complex commercial deals.
- Familiarity with utility-scale renewable energy development, U.S. power markets, transmission interconnection, and project economics.
- Proven negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently with adaptability to shifting priorities.
- Self-driven with ownership mentality and effective cross-team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication skills for building relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders.
