About the Role
The Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission (TJBCM), a rapidly expanding UK-based non-profit organisation, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Programmes Co-ordinator to support its Academy and Fellowship Programmes. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about enhancing healthcare workforce skills, boosting research capacity, and advancing brain tumour treatment and care. The position involves managing a variety of activities that include coordinating national training courses, overseeing professional networks, and facilitating fellowship application and recruitment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery and administration of the Tessa Jowell Medical and Allied Health Professionals (AHP) Fellowship Programmes, including coordinating application, review, and selection stages.
- Communicate with applicants, reviewers, and other stakeholders; manage application timelines and documentation; and administer programme operations.
- Promote research awareness and capabilities within the neuro-oncology workforce through activities such as AHP journal clubs and research networks.
- Facilitate dissemination of fellowship outcomes, research insights, and best practice examples to clinical and professional communities.
- Organise and manage national professional networks under the Tessa Jowell Academy, including meetings, peer-learning sessions, webinars, training days, and networking events.
- Coordinate venue and supplier arrangements, speaker engagements, delegate registrations, and support services for educational events.
- Maintain project trackers, manage files, conduct risk assessments, support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation, and coordinate evaluation and feedback mechanisms.
- Produce data reports covering participation, engagement, and impact for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage communications, newsletters, stakeholder correspondence, and maintain web resources on the TJ Academy's WordPress platform.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an adaptable team player with excellent project management, communication, and organisational skills. They should enjoy stakeholder coordination and possess strong interpersonal abilities to effectively deliver quality programmes. Previous experience in coordinating educational activities, events, or professional networks in healthcare, education, or scientific contexts is essential.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in event, training, or network coordination, preferably within health, education, or science sectors.
- Proven ability to manage small to medium-scale projects from start to finish.
- Strong multitasking and workload management capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Teams/Zoom, and digital collaboration tools.
- Desirable experience includes managing projects with multiple stakeholders, familiarity with NHS or healthcare organisations, and use of platforms like WordPress, Mailchimp, or Canva.
Educational Background
A Bachelor’s degree in biological or medical sciences, research, or public health is required. A Master’s or PhD in biological, medical, or social sciences with a public health interest is advantageous.
Additional Information and Working Conditions
- Salary: £35,000 per annum for a full-time role (37.5 hours per week).
- Contract Length: 2-year fixed term.
- Location: Based in Highbury, North London with hybrid working options (typically three days in the office per week).
