Role Overview
The Litigation Quality Control Analyst position is vital to ensuring the precision, uniformity, and soundness of litigation and legal dispute-related deliverables. As a key member supporting experts, consultants, and project teams, you will meticulously review expert reports, accompanying exhibits, and related research. Success in this role requires outstanding proofreading, fact-checking, citation verification, and document analysis skills, along with exceptional attention to detail.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality reviews of expert reports, declarations, and other litigation materials.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency across factual content, arguments, references, and supporting evidence.
- Detect and communicate any inconsistencies, gaps, or errors to relevant project personnel.
- Verify and validate citations, references, and source documents for correctness and attribution.
- Check that sources substantiate report conclusions and perform fact verification on data, statistics, and citations.
- Edit and proofread documents for grammatical correctness, clarity, formatting, and overall coherence.
- Assure uniform style and tone in documents authored by multiple contributors and review document revisions carefully.
- Confirm the accuracy of data, numerical analyses, charts, and exhibits align with the narrative discourse.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, subject matter experts, and project teams to address and resolve quality issues.
- Maintain documentation of findings and contribute to ongoing enhancements of quality control methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree is mandatory; advanced degrees are favored.
- Background in law, editing, publishing, research compliance, or connected disciplines is advantageous.
- Exceptional proofreading, editing, and reviewing prowess with keen detail orientation.
- Experience handling complex, technical, or documents with multiple authorship.
- Expertise with citation authentication, fact-checking, and source verification processes.
- Proficient in SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and document management platforms.
- Familiarity with document collaboration tools such as tracked changes and redlining.
- Capable of balancing multiple priorities and meeting stringent deadlines without compromising quality.
- Knowledge of common citation styles, including MLA, is preferred.
Compensation and Culture
Secretariat is committed to pay transparency and fairness. The compensation range for this role is $75,000 to $85,000 annually, influenced by experience, skills, and geographic location.
