Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Inspector for a 12-month contractual position based in Lafayette, Indiana. This role focuses on inspecting product quality and supporting continuous improvement processes within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Examine rejected items originating from incoming quality inspections and the production floor.
Investigate significant quality problems, develop clear problem statements, and relay findings to cross-functional teams.
Oversee and coordinate containment efforts such as sorting and rework to limit production disruptions caused by quality issues.
Assist in problem-solving initiatives and projects aimed at continuous improvement.
Manage the handling and authorization of Process Change Notifications and deviations.

Qualifications & Experience

Possess 2 to 4 years of experience in the manufacturing sector.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent relevant experience.

Technical Competencies

Skilled in data collection and analytical evaluation.
Strong problem-solving abilities combined with critical thinking.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
Familiarity with gauges and measurement tools.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Knowledgeable about internal combustion engines.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, or science fields.
Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
