Role Scope

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring all project components are priced appropriately to maintain an acceptable rate of return for Mercury. You will maintain detailed records supporting all payment and claim submissions, set targeted goals for your project elements aligned with overall project objectives, and manage delivery in a proactive and controlled way.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Construction Team across various Quantity Surveying duties.
• Prepare initial cost estimates during early design phases.
• Develop detailed cost plans as design progresses.
• Advise on cost impacts resulting from design modifications.
• Benchmark costs using historical project data.
• Measure quantities accurately from drawings.
• Compile Bills of Quantities (BOQs), schedules of rates, and tender documentation.
• Ensure measurement precision and consistency.
• Manage contract variation processes.
• Evaluate claims related to time, cost, and disruption.
• Prepare interim payment certificates.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Carry out all duties relevant to the Quantity Surveyor role.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a Quantity Surveyor.
• Broad understanding of work contracts, with specific knowledge of fire protection contracts.
• Familiarity with Civil and architectural work packages.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Proven negotiation skills with clients conducted professionally.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• High accuracy and keen attention to detail.
