Role Significance

Medium density housing is a significant growth focus for our company. This position enhances our technical expertise, raises engineering standards, and influences how we execute superior residential and low-rise building projects. Your efforts will directly impact client results, contribute to team growth, and support the development of our building engineering practice.

Key Responsibilities

Create innovative, top-quality structural designs and related documentation for projects of medium to large complexity such as architecturally styled homes, townhouse and unit developments, community centres, and gymnasiums.
Collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders from different disciplines to foster productive working relationships throughout projects.
Support account activities to boost client satisfaction and promote repeat business.
Mentor and develop junior and graduate engineers in accordance with company standards and practices.
Champion a client-centered approach emphasizing timely delivery, professionalism, and responsiveness.
Progressively engage in complex assignments, including multi-level buildings and light commercial ventures as your expertise matures.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
Between 1 to 3 years of post-graduate experience in structural design within residential or building sectors.
Proven experience with residential and low-rise structural design projects.
Familiarity with timber, reinforced concrete, steel structures, and systems like waffle, raft and suspended slabs, and retaining walls.
Competence in engineering software such as ClearCalcs, Space Gass, Toolkit; knowledge of Inducta and RAPT is a plus.
A solid grasp of Australian building codes and standards, including AS2870, AS1684, AS1170, AS3600, and AS4100.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients and project teams.
