About the Role
Tauranga City Council is seeking an experienced Senior AI Analyst to discover actionable opportunities involving AI and automation and transform them into impactful solutions for their teams and community. The role involves collaborating with various business units to evaluate how AI tools, automation, and low-code platforms can optimize processes, improve decision-making, and elevate service quality. Responsibilities include assessing opportunities, defining requirements, mapping workflows, and guiding solutions from conception through to adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Council teams to identify value-adding AI and automation initiatives.
- Evaluate ideas based on feasibility, risks, data preparedness, privacy, and ethical AI usage.
- Collect and document business requirements, user stories, process flows, and functional specs.
- Assist with designing, testing, implementing, managing change, and encouraging adoption of AI-powered and automated solutions.
- Develop business cases and monitor benefit realization to quantify impact.
- Create prompts, templates, and AI-guided workflows to enhance team efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- Solid experience as an Analyst in technology or digital transformation projects.
- Proficiency in gathering requirements, process modeling, and converting business needs into workable solutions.
- Good understanding of AI, automation, and low-code technologies supporting operational improvements.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Competency in developing business cases and tracking outcomes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, or similar AI tools is a plus.
- Relevant qualifications in analysis, technology, business administration, or equivalent expertise; certifications like CBAP or IIBA are advantageous but not mandatory.
