Role Overview

The Senior Designer is entrusted with leading the creative vision and execution of designated product categories, guiding them from initial concept to production rollout. This role demands a blend of creative leadership and technical skill, partnering closely with the Design Director and cross-functional teams to deliver distinctive products that align with cabi's brand essence, uphold quality standards, and meet commercial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the end-to-end design process for assigned categories, ensuring superior quality, brand consistency, timely delivery, and commercial viability.
  • Independently manage all phases of design, presenting concepts and collaborating effectively with Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, Production, and other departments.

  • Research cultural, consumer, fashion, and market trends, transforming insights into commercially viable products and inspiring presentations.
  • Lead fittings and prototype iterations alongside Product Development and Technical Design teams, maintaining design intent through to final approval.
  • Review and approve samples at multiple stages to guarantee fit, quality, and construction adhere to cabi's standards prior to production.
  • Produce detailed sketches, CADs, fabric and trim specs, print placements, and presentation materials that effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Work closely with Production and overseas vendors to navigate manufacturing challenges without compromising design integrity, deadlines, or budget.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across various departments and vendors through proactive communication and shared accountability.
  • Manage competing priorities assertively in a dynamic environment, owning timelines and swiftly addressing changing needs and challenges.
  • Gain in-depth insight into cabi's relationship-selling strategy by integrating feedback from Stylists and Field partners to develop products that enhance storytelling and sales.
  • Confidently present design concepts and seasonal strategies to diverse audiences including Product teams, Executive Leadership, Marketing, and Field partners.
  • Stay dynamically aware of emerging trends, textile innovations, construction techniques, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance products and processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a closely related discipline.
  • 8 to 11 years of experience designing women's apparel, with a proven track record overseeing product development from concept through production.
  • Deep expertise in garment construction, patternmaking, fit, fabric selection, trims, and manufacturing workflows.
