Role Overview
The ServiceNow Developer Lead is charged with designing, developing, and deploying solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role entails close collaboration with business stakeholders, administrators, and IT units to tailor and optimize ServiceNow applications. The candidate will spearhead team development, implementation of best practices, and alignment of ServiceNow solutions with the organization’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide and mentor ServiceNow developers to uphold coding, configuration, and integration best practices.
- Develop and implement the roadmap for ServiceNow development in alignment with company goals.
- Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to promote platform adoption and foster innovation.
- Set governance frameworks, establish coding standards, and enforce security protocols within ServiceNow development.
- Lead the full lifecycle of ServiceNow applications, including design, development, deployment, service catalog items, workflows, and integrations, accompanied by effort and schedule estimations.
- Deliver technical solutions and provide design and development support across modules including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, Security Operations, and others.
- Manage complex integrations with external applications utilizing REST, SOAP, LDAP, MID Server, and APIs.
- Drive automation and AI/ML-powered workflows, applying ServiceNow best practices to improve business processes.
- Ensure adherence to ITIL frameworks, security policies, and ServiceNow platform standards.
- Support Operations and Site Reliability Engineering teams in managing system upgrades, patching, and maintaining platform stability.
- Engage with business units, IT teams, and administrators to collect requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
- Assist transformation leadership in ongoing service enhancements and operations leadership in platform maintenance, including end-of-life upgrades and family updates.
Technical Skills and Expertise
- Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and ServiceNow development frameworks.
- In-depth understanding of ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, HRSD, SecOps, CSM, and bespoke application development within ServiceNow.
- Substantial experience with enterprise-level integrations and ServiceNow architecture planning.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), DevOps concepts, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Certifications ideally include ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), Certified Application Developer (CAD), and Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
Experience and Educational Background
- Possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Have 7 to 10 years of experience in ServiceNow development coupled with leadership responsibilities.
