Opportunity Overview

RemoteFront is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join their Markham, Ontario office remotely. This role focuses on contributing to the development of an innovative enterprise software product tailored for the homebuilding industry, leveraging AI-assisted tools throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the application's functionality, workflow, and design principles.
Collaborate within a Scrum team to architect and develop new product modules end-to-end, utilizing AI-aided development technologies under architectural supervision.
Support setup, configuration, testing, and maintenance of MCP servers and connectors that enable AI-assisted development, including documentation and governance of usage policies.
Enhance automated testing frameworks by expanding unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage (e.g., Playwright), integrating these tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Create and improve reusable AI contexts such as rules files, prompts, and agentic workflows to streamline development and review processes.
Assess the quality and reliability of AI-generated code outputs; iterate to optimize effectiveness.
Document development processes comprehensively and suggest methods to scale AI-assisted development and automation across the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Ability to work onsite at the Markham, Ontario office.
Solid understanding of software requirements and the software development lifecycle.
Experience with multi-tier, distributed web applications focused on responsive design.
Familiarity with collaborative development best practices involving shared code repositories (Git), including branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
Hands-on expertise in full-stack development technologies including HTML5, TypeScript, JavaScript, and stylesheets; Angular experience is a plus.
Proficiency in .NET framework and SQL querying.
Knowledge of object-oriented design principles.
Experience with Test-Driven Development, including writing unit and integration tests.
Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools and prompt engineering is advantageous.
Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Playwright and Azure DevOps (Repos, Pipelines) is preferred.

Compensation Details

The role offers an estimated hourly wage between CAD 22.50 and CAD 27.50 for residents of Ontario and British Columbia, aligned with applicable pay transparency requirements. Final compensation may vary based on location, experience, and other relevant criteria.
