About The Role
Imagine your programming skills shaping how future AI systems comprehend and generate software. We seek Software Engineers based in Toronto to develop, assess, and enhance AI-produced code, thereby teaching AI to think like human developers.
This role involves hands-on engineering at the forefront of AI advancements — practical, dynamic, and engaging. You'll craft solutions, critically analyze AI-generated code, and provide expert-level feedback to improve the safety, reliability, and intelligence of AI coding assistants.
It's a fully remote contract position offering flexible hours; clear, well-structured coding and explanation skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, debug, and fine-tune code spanning various languages, frameworks, and problem domains.
- Assess AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, readability, and adherence to best practices.
- Detect bugs, logical flaws, security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks in AI outputs.
- Offer comprehensive feedback explaining why certain code implementations succeed or fail.
- Create challenging coding prompts and edge cases to rigorously test AI capabilities.
- Compare and evaluate multiple AI-generated solutions based on engineering quality.
- Operate autonomously and asynchronously, managing your workload independently.
Candidates Should Possess
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, or TypeScript.
- Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design fundamentals.
- Ability to read, write, and reason about code clearly and precisely.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to debugging.
- Effective written communication to convey technical decisions plainly.
- Self-driven and dependable when working without supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent background.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience spanning multiple programming languages or tech stacks (full-stack, backend, systems, or data engineering).
- Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, large language models, or prompt engineering.
- Background in code review, technical documentation, or mentoring junior engineers.
- Familiarity with cloud services, DevOps, or distributed system architectures.
