Position Overview
We are collaborating with a major Oil & Gas operator to recruit an experienced Supervisor (Site) specializing in dredging activities. This position is a long-term contract based onshore in Qatar.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations involving dredging, reclamation, breakwater, quay wall, revetment, jetty, and other marine construction tasks.
- Supervise contractor, subcontractor, and workforce activities to ensure adherence to project schedules and plans.
- Manage the allocation and operation of marine equipment such as dredgers, barges, tugs, and survey vessels.
- Ensure all work complies with approved technical drawings, specifications, and approved methods.
- Monitor dredging production metrics, including depth accuracy, excavation volumes, spoil disposal, land reclamation status, and progress aligned with project objectives.
- Identify any construction-related obstacles and suggest remedial measures to mitigate delays or issues.
- Promote strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies, report any unsafe conditions, and enforce corrective interventions promptly.
- Implement and oversee inspection and test plans (ITPs) to maintain quality standards and support completion of punch lists.
- Validate dredging quantities and project milestones in coordination with hydrographic and topographic surveyors.
- Compile daily site reports highlighting workforce deployment, equipment use, production results, weather impacts, and overall project progress.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in dredging, marine construction works, reclamation projects, or port infrastructure development.
Work Schedule and Terms
The role requires on-site presence in Qatar with a 5-day workweek and a daily shift of 8-10 hours or as dictated by project demands. The expected start date is as soon as possible, generally after a notice period of up to one month.
