Systematic Trader

Position Overview

Black Swan Group, a renowned global financial services firm, is seeking a seasoned Systematic Trader to join its institutional trading team based in Dubai. This role involves supervising quantitative trading and market-making across various asset types. The ideal candidate will merge strong programming and analytical expertise with in-depth knowledge of electronic markets, execution techniques, risk management, and real-time trading systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage systematic trading and market-making strategies.
• Design, improve, and maintain real-time algorithmic trading platforms.
• Analyze extensive datasets to uncover trading opportunities and enhance trade executions.
• Evaluate strategy effectiveness, transaction expenses, execution quality, and associated risks.
• Collaborate closely with teams in Quantitative Research, Data Science, Technology, Institutional Sales, and Risk Management.
• Contribute to testing, launching, and optimizing live trading systems.
• Ensure strong governance and controls for electronic and automated trading activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or another analytical field.
• Relevant professional experience in fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC), equities, derivatives, electronic trading, or market making.
• Proficiency in programming languages, with preference for Java and Python.
• Experience in developing or supporting real-time algorithmic trading systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of quantitative trading strategies, execution processes, trade technologies, and risk control measures.
• Commercial awareness combined with strong analytical skills, thriving in a dynamic institutional setting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Eligibility to perform an FCA SMCR Certification Function.
