Role Overview
The WordPress Operations Specialist at Global Wave Group, based in Albany, Auckland, oversees the routine administration, upkeep, and fundamental configuration of the corporate WordPress websites. This position guarantees that website content is current and accurate, ensures optimal page loading performance, maintains security, and supports marketing initiatives and business goals.
Key Duties
- Administer the WordPress dashboard, including managing pages, posts, menus, media assets, and user permissions.
- Publish, revise, and organize web content such as text, images, videos, and downloadable files working collaboratively with marketing and content teams.
- Ensure website compatibility and proper display across desktop and mobile platforms and the predominant web browsers.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, updating, and basic troubleshooting of WordPress themes and plugins.
- Engage with developers or external service providers to implement technical adjustments, custom functionalities, or correct bugs as necessary.
- Track website performance metrics including page load times and availability, coordinating with hosting or technical teams to resolve issues.
- Conduct regular backups and assist with fundamental security measures such as plugin updates, enforcing password policies, and security scanning.
- Support the setup and upkeep of tracking systems and analytics tools, including Google Analytics.
- Assist in creating landing pages for various marketing campaigns like promotions, webinars, and events.
- Maintain brand consistency by ensuring all web content adheres to the company’s style, tone, and visual standards.
- Perform basic on-page SEO tasks including updating titles, meta descriptions, alt text, and URLs according to marketing or SEO directives.
- Document important website management procedures and maintain user manuals to aid team members using WordPress.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- A college diploma or bachelor's degree in Marketing, Information Technology, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience managing WordPress websites, particularly corporate or marketing-focused sites.
- Strong familiarity with WordPress fundamentals including themes, plugins, widgets, menus, page builders, and media management.
- Basic skills in HTML and CSS for making simple style or layout changes are favorable.
- Understanding of web hosting, domain management, and DNS configurations is an advantage.
- Prior experience with Google Analytics or comparable web analytics platforms is beneficial.
- Attention to detail, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple content update requests while maintaining precision and quality.
- Effective communication abilities to collaborate with marketing, design, product, and technical teams.
- Fluent in English reading and communication to comprehend plugin documentation, administration panels, and support material; knowledge of Chinese language considered an asset.
