Assistant Project Engineer

Job Overview

The Assistant Project Engineer will work under the Project Manager to support ACMV (Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation) projects in the built environment. The position is centered on making sure project work meets engineering and contractual obligations, while coordinating closely with the design team to uphold engineering and safety standards. The role also involves keeping track of contracts, costs, timelines, and the successful delivery of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the full project lifecycle, from initial concept through completion, by helping with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination in line with the Project Quality Plan, Safety Management Plan, and Building Execution Plan.
• Help maintain the BIM model so it remains accurate and current.
• Support the creation and organization of project paperwork, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Work with clients to help address their project needs under the direction of the Project Engineer.
• Assist in reviewing any changes to scope, timeline, or budget to ensure they remain compliant.
• Support the resolution of technical and contractual matters with guidance from senior staff.
• Help oversee construction progress so the work stays on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations.
• Monitor contractor performance and confirm that contractual commitments are being met.
• Coordinate with consultants and contractors as directed by the Project Engineer.
• Assist with project handover to the client.
• Follow Singapore regulations and industry standards under the supervision of senior project personnel.
• Support safety-related activities and participate in compliance inspections.
• Assist in securing required permits and approvals.
• Contribute to sustainability goals and help ensure environmental requirements are met.
• Help reduce public disruption during construction by coordinating with the relevant authorities.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Project Management, or a closely related discipline. Experience in ACMV projects is an advantage.
• Bizsafe Level 2 certification or above is preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred, although recent graduates may also apply.
• Ability to work independently and show leadership within a team setting.
• Working knowledge of BIM is beneficial.
