Role Overview

As part of Nua Healthcare's dedicated team, the Assistant Support Worker role primarily involves delivering tailored assistance to individuals with various complex requirements, helping them live meaningful and fulfilling lives. The service users may include individuals experiencing autism, Asperger syndrome, acquired brain injuries, challenging behaviors, intellectual disabilities combined with Alzheimer’s or dementia, mental health rehabilitation and recovery challenges, or personality disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in accomplishing their daily plans and activities.
• Provide support during community engagements and activities.
• Help users in education, skill-building, and achieving personal goals.
• Assist with independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending medical appointments, and family visits.
• Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice to ensure quality care.
• Adapt to shift work covering all 24 hours throughout the week.

Requirements and Skills

• No formal qualifications required for Assistant Support Worker; all essential training will be provided.
• Social Care Workers require a Level 7 or 8 degree in Social Care, Healthcare, or a related field along with CORU registration.
• Relevant life or work experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Possess a positive attitude and a passion for supporting others.
• Must have or be in the process of obtaining a full driver’s license.
