Role Overview
We are representing a partner company seeking an experienced Business Data Analyst for a fully remote position located in Canada. This role suits a professional who thrives on converting complex business issues into efficient solutions, collaborating closely with stakeholders across various teams to analyze current processes, establish requirements, and boost organizational efficiency through innovative technology and process enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate business domains, systems, and workflows to uncover opportunities for improvement aligned with organizational objectives.
- Develop, document, and verify business functions, processes, workflows, and requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders and experts to collect, analyze, and record business needs thoroughly.
- Examine feasibility and compatibility of new systems or upgrades with user needs and business goals.
- Prepare detailed use cases, procedures, business documentation, and reports accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Lead or assist with business process reengineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and recommend enhancements in efficiency, cost savings, and service delivery through technological and process innovations.
- Support the preparation of business cases for proposed projects or improvements.
- Perform change impact analyses to document effects of business and system modifications.
- Participate in user acceptance testing and support validation of new system functionalities.
- Conduct research, analyses, and evaluations of current and proposed programs, processes, and systems.
- Develop policies and procedures to promote better operational performance.
- Guide and coordinate activities of project teams or staff as needed.
- Facilitate management decision-making by producing clear, actionable consolidated documentation from complex information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in documenting and leading business process reengineering or improvement projects.
- At least 2 years’ experience drafting detailed use cases.
- Strong analytical abilities to comprehend complex business operations and system requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills capable of conveying technical and business concepts effectively.
- Proficient in managing change, negotiating, and collaborating with diverse internal and external parties.
- Exceptional documentation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience with government, enterprise, or large-scale transformation projects is advantageous.
- Certifications from recognized Business Analyst professional bodies are considered a plus.
- Familiarity with BABOK framework is preferable.
- Experience with enterprise platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, SuccessFactors, Fieldglass, Ariba, or Concur is beneficial.
