Role Summary
The Business Development Manager within the EPS Automotive Electronics unit will drive partnerships and sales growth primarily with automotive OEMs and Tier 2 suppliers. The manager will act as the bridge between commercial and technical segments, fostering new client relationships, guiding product introductions, and supporting revenue expansion via strategic pricing and market insights.
Core Responsibilities
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with key automotive OEMs, Tier 2 partners, and strategic associates.
- Handle commercial dealings, including requests for quotations (RFQs) and contract negotiations, serving as the main contact.
- Conduct business evaluations and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Identify and chase growth avenues aligned with corporate goals and technology trends like electric vehicle systems, ADAS, and connectivity.
- Assess market dynamics, competitor strategies, and client needs to shape market entry methods.
- Assist in building enduring strategic collaborations and joint venture opportunities.
- Partner with program management to monitor project progress, forecast revenues, and maintain profitability.
- Provide leadership with vital business metrics such as sales pipelines, RFQ statuses, and win/loss assessments.
- Guide financial forecasting and support annual operational planning.
- Oversee preparation of quotations and lead pricing negotiations ensuring alignment with cost and profit targets.
- Coordinate with finance, legal, and engineering teams on contract reviews and commercial agreements.
- Manage commercial change requests and claims as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
- 3 to 6 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account roles within automotive Tier 1 contexts.
- Demonstrated success managing OEM or Tier 2 client accounts and strategic partnerships.
- Deep understanding of automotive systems and manufacturing methodologies.
- Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and communication capabilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when necessary.
- Strong strategic, analytical mindset coupled with effective interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions with a proactive and results-driven attitude.
- Maintains high standards of professionalism and ethical integrity.
