Overview
The role of Business Performance Analyst, Expert, located in Oakland, CA, supports the Procurement organization by serving as the primary contact and technical lead for all Power Platform initiatives. This hybrid position welcomes out-of-state candidates, with local hires expected to work occasionally onsite.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage the complete intake process for Power Platform demands in Procurement, acting as the central liaison for dashboards, applications, and automation requests.
- Convert vague business challenges into well-defined problem statements and functional specifications, including acceptance criteria and delivery roadmaps.
- Evaluate requests based on feasibility, complexity, risks, and value propositions; propose the best-fit solutions among Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, or alternative tools.
- Coordinate prioritization and backlog management collaboratively with Procurement leadership to balance new projects with ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
- Architect, develop, test, and deploy enterprise-level Power Platform solutions: optimized Power BI dashboards and semantic models, intricate Power Apps with multi-step workflows and role-based access, and robust Power Automate flows supporting approvals and integrations with error handling.
- Ensure adherence to standardized design conventions, documentation, and naming to promote scalability and maintainability.
- Lead user acceptance testing, ensure readiness for production, and manage post-deployment stability.
- Maintain compliance with Procurement governance, SOX controls, data security policies, and audit mandates.
- Serve as an escalation point for performance issues, risks, and control deficiencies related to Power Platform solutions.
- Act as an advisor to Procurement leadership, educating stakeholders on scalable and feasible Power Platform capabilities.
- Mentor team members on best practices to foster consistency and avoid single points of failure.
- Continuously analyze demand trends and solution usage to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and reuse.
- Stay informed on Power Platform updates and industry best practices, applying them to practical Procurement use cases.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in procurement or closely related domains.
- Advanced hands-on skills in Power BI (including data modeling, DAX formulas, performance tuning, and enterprise reporting), Power Apps (creating complex forms, validations, integrations, and role-based securities), and Power Automate (building enterprise workflows with approvals and robust error management).
- Proven capability to lead end-to-end solution delivery encompassing intake through production support.
- Strong skills in gathering requirements, communicating with stakeholders, and managing priorities.
- Preferred experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or Operations sectors.
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as SAP and Ariba that often integrate with Power Platform solutions.
- Experience developing intake processes, backlogs, or frameworks for digital product delivery teams is advantageous.
